Jesus made this startling statement in John 15:5:  " ... for without Me, you can do nothing.” 
Lord Jesus says here that the ultimate freedom can only be reached by fully subordinate to the truth. It says nothing about love. Many speak in vague generalities about his great love for Jesus Christ and the lost people. Listen to what Jesus says in John. 14: 15, 21, 23, 24 when he keeps up that obedience to the truth is the primary form of love:
"If ye love me, keep my commandments. ... He who has My commandments and keeps them, he is the one who loves me ... If anyone loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him. Whoever does not love me, he keepeth not my words. "

God is angry with this wicked generation.

He is coming in glory and power, "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and on those that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;..." 2 THESSALONIANS 1:8-9.

Every day people are dying in different ways for no apparent reason. Perhaps a friend or a relative of yours has died recently in a road accident or some other way that seems to be only by chance. People naturally ask why God chooses particular people and not others, or whether indeed life is just a matter of 'luck'. This is nothing new. In Jesus' day a tower fell on some people and killed them. Here is what Jesus said:

"Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, EXCEPT YE REPENT, YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH" LUKE 13:4-5.

Jesus says that those 'unlucky' ones were no worse than the rest of the people of that age: their death was a sign from God of His judgment on that whole nation. Within forty years millions of Jews were slaughtered and the rest were taken captive, as Jesus had foretold. The time is approaching when the WHOLE WORLD will be judged: every road accident, every natural disaster is a WARNING FROM GOD to this generation and nation that all will be destroyed, except they repent.

Why is God so angry with His world? It is written...

"For this ye know, that no whoremonger (or fornicator), nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU with vain words: for BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience" EPHESIANS 5:5-6.

God is angry because all around us he sees FORNICATION and UNCLEANNESS and COVETOUSNESS. No person who commits such things has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. ANY MAN OR WOMAN OR BOY OR GIRL WHO HAS SEXUAL INTERCOURSE EXCEPT WITH HIS/HER WIFE OR HUSBAND IS A FORNICATOR. In 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10 God says again that NO FORNICATOR SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication sinneth against his own body" 1 CORINTHIANS 6:18.

Other things that GOD specifically FORBIDS are:

ADULTERY: Fornication when the woman is married to someone else. God says THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY (EXODUS 20:14).

Jesus says: "Whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." No wonder Jesus is coming to take vengeance on this unclean world (MATTHEW 5:28).

DIVORCE: God intends marriage to be life-long. Jesus says: "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder" (MATTHEW 19:6).
Also 1 CORINTHIANS 7:11: "let not the husband put away his wife."
This wicked generation is mocking the ordinance of God. DIVORCE IS ONLY PERMISSIBLE IN THE CASE OF MARITAL UNFAITHFULNESS. MATTHEW 5:32 and LUKE 16:18 (Jesus' words).

INCEST: Any sex between near relatives, including in-laws, step-parents, etc.

The city of Sodom is set before us for an example: "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to FORNICATION, and going after strange flesh, are SET FORTH FOR AN EXAMPLE, SUFFERING THE VENGEANCE OF ETERNAL FIRE" JUDE 7.

What was wrong with Sodom is told in EZEKIEL 16:49-50:
"Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and COMMITTED ABOMINATION before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good."

The people of Sodom and its neighbouring cities lived in PRIDE and PROSPERITY and IDLENESS: the result was sexual abomination - see GENESIS 19:1-13.

What was God's judgment on such?

"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground" GENESIS 19:24-25.

All around us we see the same things that God saw in Sodom. Their destruction is set forth as a warning to us - Jesus says that just before he returns the world will be just as it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah (LUKE 17:28-30). BE WARNED. This whole earth is awaiting destruction by fire (2 PETER 3:7).

"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers (fornicators) and adulterers GOD WILL JUDGE." HEBREWS 13:4

There is no compromise with the Word of God - Jesus said:
"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but MY WORDS SHALL NOT PASS AWAY" MARK 13:31.

Also JOHN 12:48 "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY" (Again these are Jesus' words).
